    injectors

I would check the red plug on the ECU for oil contamination.
    It's under the drivers seat

Its highly likely that this is your issue

You need to check the plug at the front right of the head for oil contamination if it too is contaminated then you will
need to replace the injector harness and clean everything including the ECU and red plug with contact cleaner.
The harness is only $85 or so you may get temporary relief if you just clean everything up with contact cleaner.

Others have given you the likely problem.

As for the questions above. Burnt out injectors are HIGHLY unlikely. Damaged injectors are a distinct possibility only if someone has recently had the head of and put it down face first on a flat surface without first extracting the injectors.

    Yes, new ones are expensive!

I don't believe they can be repaired.

Fingers crossed you just need to change the loom. Easy DIY job and you'll need a new rocker cover gasket to et to the loom beneath the rocker cover.

I just looked at the link and found a TD5 that is beautifully clean. I am in the middle of changing the injector loom on mine and the clean area around the injectors in the link photo is full of oil on mine.

Which is normal? If mine is not, what should I do to control oil in this area?

    Full of oil is normal.
That is the problem , the oil naturally in the rocker area of the head works its way into the loom.
Only Land Rover could make electrics that leak oil. Lucas for smoke , LR for oil.
