    Current Defender colour chart

Can anyone with a current Defender brochure tell me if Nara Bronze is in the options list for colours ? It's not listed in the options on the web that's all. SWMBO's taken a shine to the D90 LE in Nara, we just don't think it's worth the significant premium the local dealer is asking over a non-LE version & the dealership didn't have any Defender brochures left. Nara does suit the slab sided cars well though, so we were wondering if a 2013 could be ordered for build in it, that way she'd also get the 13MY updates as opposed to this MY12 which as far as I could tell, only had the upgraded stereo.

Nice car though, was astonished she even suggested looking at it to be honest !

Can you not download the current broacher from the website?

I don't think it it available as I thought that colour was reserved on the defenders for the limited edition only...in saying that though I thought all things on limited edition cars was reserved and that didn't take long to change
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Reason we wondered if it's available separately is that the other LE is in Orkney, which is on the normal colour chart. That one's really not worth the extra premium given that anyone can paint the wheel arches metallic black & lob the different lights & grille on !

    current defender colour chart

    Dear Mike S,
I have a 2012 Defender brochure which has a section on "Body Styles and Colours". It does not include Nara Bronze.
The section refers the reader to www.landrover.com.au for further information.
    regards,
    Hayden

Thanks Hayden. The dealer told us there's a new brochure for 2013, they hadn't received them yet but that there are some minor differences to the 2012 brochure to include the new stereo & seats etc. He wasn't sure what the optional colours would be (new dealership, still learning about Land Rover!)

They want $56k give or take for it, it's the most expensive D90 on carsales by some margin. Salesman even made the comment over a 'normal' D90 only being $45k. Under no circumstances is it worth $10k more than a normal Deefer. He spouted something about there only being 20 of the D90 LE's brought in, most are Orkney Grey by the looks of it but I've no idea how true the numbers are. Still doesn't make it worth that massive premium. $50k yes maybe, but not $56.5k.

Says a lot that MLR's demo D90 in Orkney is available for $51k. Sadly the boss isn't keen on it in that colour.

That's about what I paid for mine.. but I managed to negotiate a tow bar and a couple of other small things in also.. yes it is more expensive but it's bewdiful.. It depends on what it important to you and it's not just colour, lights and grill that is different.. the interior is much nicer than the standard, the dash, better tyres, side steps, rear step, leather seats etc I test drove a standard but bought the Xtech.. I probably would have been happy with the standard Defender but chose to pay the extra because I liked it.. but maybe that's a girl thing..

It also should hold it's value more as there were limited amounts being bought in.. 20 of the D90 Xtechs were bought in 2011 and another 20 this year. And I was told that is it.. no more. How true that is I don't know as some salesmen will say anything to get you to sign on the dotted line. But honestly.. I don't care.. I don't plan on selling mine anytime soon.. and by the time I do want to upgrade it will have so many km's (already over 60,000 kms in 18 months) on it that it won't fetch a high price anyway.

Hope I'm not breaking any rules around here but we paid $49k for our Nara Bronze D90 LE very recently, that was during the "main event" sale... so free on roads.

I don't think the LE is really worth any more than 4-5k over and above the base model but comes down to personal choice, it's certainly a head turner and everyone seems to love it.

Can't see the bronze will make an appearance outside of an LE any time soon:

And yes, the missus fell for it on first sight!

Just go in low first up and see what they say .
