Defender td5 Starter motor clicking
Hi all,
The starter on my 99 td5 130 has started playing silly buggers. The starter just clicks for a few times up to even 10 times before firing to life like nothing is wrong. Was thinking a faulty solenoid maybe. Any idea's??
Thanks, Ryan

Yep, had the same with my Td5 Disco. Once you get the starter motor out, it will literally take less than 10 minutes to replace the solenoid!

Just get a refurb kit. It's a denzo starter and the plunger and contact kits are readily available from eBay or motor electrical places.

Yup, did mine in the 130 6 months ago. The hardest bit was getting the starter out and back in! As said before eBay.. Had a quick look but ant find my purchase on there... Think it was thru Roverlord for about $24. Good luck!
