Thread: Camshaft Cover Gasket

I have heard that the camshaft cover gasket may not seal too well and that a "goo" of some type will help when installing a new one.

What "goo" is recommended?

Hi Howard,
I'm not really a fan of Toyotas, however Toyota do make the best sealant, my opinion of course, it has never let me down. It is called "seal packing black" part number 08826-00080-A, it isn't the cheapest sealant you'll buy but it does work.
As long as you follow the instructions you won't go wrong, watch the assembly time, it is quite important.
