Thread: Should I plug drain in Electronics Box ?

On my 2012 Defender 90 2.2 I notice that there is a water drain hole at the bottom rear of the electronics storage box under the drivers seat.
With 2 inch lift, the hole is 65cm from the ground (3cm above bottom of drivers door) Although I can see the wisdom of having a drain I am tempted to plug this hole to prevent water ingress if vehicle stops or reverses whilst crossing a creek. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I would be looking at sealing things up properly, splash some water around to make sure you've got all the little holes and possibly throw a couple of satchels of desiccant in to keep the vapour space dry, I think if I got to the point that the water is up around the top of the seat support I think i'm in a worse situation than I should be in.
Love the idea of a bilge pump, can certainly see the merits, however I had one in my boat and for it to work effectively there had to be a fair amount of water in the bilge for it to work effectively. As for holes in the "can" itself plugging them up for dust and any liquid ingress would be the way to go, IMHO anyway.
