    Noisy Alternator

My 300Tdi alternator (original I reckon) is starting to make some grinding/squealing noises, causing me to suspect imminent failure.

I have it on good authority that the bearings might be replaceable. Despite this, I'd like advice on prices/brands etc for a replacement.

    Any suggestions/recommendations?

i have a brand new (disco) one sitting in the shed..........i brought mine from M R. happy to cut you a deal (i two thought mine was failing but it ome good).

if you believe it will last longer enough to import one that would be your cheapest option

i upgraded to a disco alternator a few years ago as they are higher output. i also run the disco suepentine belt as i couldn't be bothered changing the pullies over
