recently acquired a td5 110 converted to auto (ex D2) with compushift, motor ex D2a, 1.2 transfer, remapped.
no probs getting upto speed, feels bit overgeared b/t 70-95km/h on highway but it wants to cruise on 120km/h which i don't. i guess with the above driveline it is the same gearing as a TD5 D2.
tyres
rims - 16x8 dynamic offset don't know? see photos
currently 285/75-16 maxxis bighorn, 835mm OD 1986rpm @100km/h - very noisy, need to go.
stock deefer are 235/85-16 806mm OD, 2393rpm @100km/h
stock TD5 D2 16 inch are 235/70 735mm OD 2254rpm @100km/h
(happy to be corrected if i got those rpm & tyre sizes wrong)
has large aftermarket flares, so being mindful if go back to smaller tyres will have to keep the current 8 inch offset rims. i don't believe the flares are fastened through the same holes as the original, the previous owner told me he didn't cut any metal though. also don't want to up the rpm by too much as will make it bit noisier (yeah i know it's a deefer).
if go back to original 235/85-16 it would make 2055rpm @100km/h. does that get the engine closer to its sweet spot? would they look a bit too scrawny?
coils
front - britpart HD yellow coil 230lb
rear - britpart yellow coil 170-195lb
on my first TD5 deefer it had standard coils, can someone confirm what lb they were. looked and found lots of different answers. these coils feel too hard (or maybe it's the shocks). i only ever travel light so want to go back to standard LR coils.
shocks
front - britpart cellular dynamic
rear - britpart cellular dynamic
on my first deefer put on de carbon and was very happy. am contemplating koni because of good experience on my D1 and reviews & b/c adjustable. the shocks on it feel too firm. picks up every bump in the road on the highway and can skip on bumps at speed going around corners.
thanks,
brett.
