    130 funny back end

    looking for ideas

the left rear tier rubs on the top spring mount.

there is about an inch or so difrence bettween the left and right ( clearance )

run around with a tape, its not the rims, rubber and the dif is in the center.

now thinking a difrent stub has been fitted at some time,

anyone know if there are difrent stub hub setups, a bit like the county/ defender. can a disco be boulted up and are thay shorter??

That's odd... I'd b placing the rear of the vehicle on stands, removing the back wheels and clamping a straight edge to each hub then measuring the distance from each hub to the ball joint on the center of the axle. If these match side for side (which they should), then look at the 'A' frame mounting points at the chassis end. 10/20mm out here will move the axle to the left or right... If they don't match, then yup, look at hubs.. While you have the wheels off, lie them flat on a level floor with the outside up and double check again that the distance from the floor and the inside flange face match... LWB and Deep Dish 130 rims look similar at first glance. Let us know what you find....

i run a tape from the flange to the ball, no problem there.

put a strat edge over the out side of the rim and meserd to the drive flane no problem there.

so i asuming the problem is between the drive flange and dif flange?

i will keep this thread up dated. im about to put a picture in the what did you do today, a dead 300tdi disco is next job after i do a couple of little jobs on my county then i will be back onto the 130. i think i have to many mates with LRs

You're drawing a long bow there.

Perhaps if you use the disco hubs, etc.

110 stub axles are longer than Disco I. Later Defender may be same length.

Hi John ,I know that Disco 1 hubs are the same as my td5 110 (sailsbury)they even have the hole were t/c probe fits . However the early 110 may be different, if thats the case I'm sure we will soon told ... kind regards jimr1 ..
