My 13 Defender Alpine Unit Bluetooth

    Hi Everybody
I have the my 13 Defender with the new Alpine head unit. I use an iPhone paired with bluetooth which works well. I like to try and keep my phone as a phone and my music separately on an iPod.
My question is ,if I have my iPhone paired as a phone will I be able to pair a bluetooth iPod for music at the same time ?. If the answer is yes I will buy a new iPod as my old iPod does not have bluetooth.
    Cheers

    Hi Tony

You can pair multiple devices up but I don't think that it is possible to have 2 audio devices simultaneously connected.

I just tried out what you proposed with my iPhone and daughters iPod touch on the Sony bluetooth stereo in the caravan, with no luck. Both are paired but the stereo will only allow one at a time to communicate.

Alpine may be a bit more flexible, check the instruction book

    Cheers

Thanks for taking the time to try that. The manual is silent on the issue.
I will wait until my kids get back from their easter trip and try using one of their iPods. Its no big deal I was trying to avoid iPod cables hanging out of the unit.
    Cheers

I've got a pioneer head unit and it's not possible afaik. I play music through usb from my ipod and use the bluetooth from my phone which works well, the audio from the cabin noise on the defender keeps the phone calls short though.

Yes I can connect the ipod to either and it works ok.I was just trying to avoid having the cable dangling down around the gear shift. A bit of cable mgt required I guess.
For those of you with the my 13 Alpine head unit I suggest you download the manual from the Alpine site. It is more comprehensive then that included in the Land Rover manual.
    Cheers,
