    Alive or BAS

With a new 2.2 130 puma on the way I thought I would ask what do people prefer in the way of remaps Alive or BAS? Why so? And at what cost ?

I have been in another members 2.4 130 with a alive remap moderate tune (?) it went very well and made it quite drivable....

Personally I would have preferred a 2.4 like my previous 110 but the 2.2 still felt like it went ok and is all that's available so ill have to deal with it...

I don't think you could go wrong with either IRB are very good as well(hard to get a hold of though)

If I remember correct Pete from BAS works/ed for JLR engine development so his knowledge is second to none.

If you read defender2 forums BAS puts a lots of his development work up on there.

    BAS

I am going with BAS, as soon as I finish a couple of jobs on the car. I have had a Dyno done on the 2.2, but in the wrong gear (4th). The MT82 gearbox 1.1 is actually fith gear. So when done I will have the Dyno done again and use both 4th and 5th. 4th for comparison and 5th for integrity's sake. Two nuts and three clips to undo and it's off.

    Cheers,
    PeterW

I may consider bolting a sals rear diff under it at some stage along with a better intercooler and a 3" exhaust...

Is that before or after the tune?

Well I have been in discussion with one of the above mentioned in regards to fitting an exhaust along side installing the tune however they do not suggest it will be a good idea and may cause damage however I think that is rubbish as the ecu would monitor boost pressure and if it doesn't a boost gauge will tell me if fitting a larger exhaust has miraculously dropped back pressure that much it is allowing over speeding of the turbo...I'd like to fit the intercooler first so its ready to accommodate the extra heat produced however I am unsure as what to do first hmmm
