Thread: Help from 7 seater owner. Is there extra reinforcement plates for 7 seater?

I will receive some 3rd row seats for 110. Will know more when I see how they it but have a question about the reinforcement necessary around the wheel arches where the seats bolt to.

When I first investigated this a dealer told there would need to be extra reinforcement to secure the seats as the aluminium wasn't strong enough. I was surprised because I thought they were identical but he assured me the defender begin hand built, that the 5 seaters didn't have the extra strength needed.

I will post of photo of the inside wheels arch of the 5 seater, it look suspiciously like there are screw holes and mounts to supper the extra 2 seats. Be great if a 7 seater mate out there could have a squiz and let me know what theirs looks like from the underside.

Your photo doesn't really look like where I pulled mine out (but that could be the angle of the shot). Depending on the seats there will be a OEM Kit. So if these are recent fold sideways seats out of a 90 or a 110 there will be a fitting kit which hopefully will include the the upper and lower seat belt anchorages.
