With handbrake on and cdl in neutral, have a look under the car while you get few assistants to rock the car forward and backwards.
If it is flogged out you will see the nose of the diff moving a lot, and probably hear the clunk.
In good condition there should be very little movement

The other 2% made it home.

Cost difference between Britpart and Genuine seals: £2.04. Knowing that your brakes won't fail at any moment: Priceless.

My defender has a clunk when I change gear to accelerate. Brought it into the stealers a few months ago who sat me down to say it was the propshafts; all 4 would have to be replaced , material cost of $700 a pop and a full days labour for 2 men...I just drove on...mine actually seems to be the universal joints from the front prop, there is a rattle / clunk when I try to turn it by hand.

The rear prop is tight, doesn't seem to be an problem with those joints.bloody stealers...

The more prop shafts the faster you go.

And even if there were 4 it sure as eggs ain't gonna take a full day for 2 guys to change them.

"A" frame or rear drive flanges - my guess.

Well I suppose that strictly speaking, I have 6, it's just that they are distributed between 3 vehicles.

You reckon I should try and install a few more?
