Question Will disco 2 shockers fit on my defender?

    Hi all

You may have seen my thread recently about the koni heavy track 8240 series.
I am considering lifting my car one day with a 2" lift and I have been told that this koni shock will not be suited.

Koni make a plus 2" shocker for the disco 2 which isn't the Koni Raid model.
My question is whether these shocks will fit on my defender?
Are all the mounting points the same?

I'm tipping that they are, but they are just set up different to suit the weight of the disco2. They look the same from photos but a lot of photos on web sites are for illustration only.

Does anyone know whether I can fit shocks for a disco2 to a 2005 defender 110?

    Thanks
    Mick

    No.

    Well, yes, but no.

The D2 has eye / eye shock mounts and the defender has pin / pin front and eye / pin rear. That is the no part.

The yes part is that you can fit D2 turrets to a deefer and use pin converters or different mounts to do eye eye on a defender.

It isn't too much work - it is what I'm doing. I have D2 turrets that I'm fitting as the shocks that I wanted are only available as eye / eye.

I don't understand why koni don't have a plus 2" shocker in the 82 series for a defender.
Thanks for your pm, reply sent.

Yeah there just aren't that many shocks in eye - pin or pin - pin.

I found that looking for 'universal' shocks where you just need open / closed lengths and rates was much easier - but they are mostly all eye - eye.

Initially I looked at raids, but ended up with 10" RR Bilstein 7100. I've been pretty slack with fitting them though as I can't make my mind up about other changes to the suspension.
