Radius Arms for a Sals + stuck sump plug

    General question
Are the radius Arms on a Sals front Axel the narrow type (40mm) or are they the wide ones (44mm).

    Sump plug - TD5 130 2001
I have been trying to get the damn sump plug off over the last two weekends, no joy. Last time we had it off I told my son "Just nip it up so it don't leak". I fear however that boofhead (my son) cranked on that damn sump plug for all he was worth. So as of now I have just started to round the corners off the plug but not fully, I was wondering if a rattle gun would stand a better chance of getting the damn plug off!!

Or has anyone a better idea to try?
    Thanks

Rattle gun probably would have got it but now the corners are rounded you'll probably need a metrinch socket or spanner.

A bit of impact (hammer) or some nitrogen spray might also get you over the line.

I've never seen aTd5 sump plug, but assuming its a single hex (6point) make sure you're using a 6point socket on it rather than a 12pt one.

Whats the Sals front axle in?

I think a rattle gun may still do the trick....just, But I'll get some nitrogen spray as well an see how it goes.

I am using a hex socket, its just bloody damn tight!!

I want to throw a front Sals under my 130 a bit latter on, but I need to change the radius arms now, so kill 2 birds with one stone kind of thing.

The only front salsbury i know of was leaf sprung not coil .
I'm not 100% but i think it was only the 101 that had a front sals .
So finding one that will bolt in with out mods will be fun.

not that I would know. But I´m sure, someone out there will:

(PTSchramm tinkered with them. I think he´s got to do with Rovers on a daily basis. I´d ask him if everything else fails).

Factory coil front Sals come from armoured vehicles AFAIK, it'd depend which year the vehicle was built as to if it has wide or narrow radius arms. There is likely no one correct answer.

I was afraid of that. I know some were used on 109's an 110's for MOD in the UK, but I can't recall the year's that this was done. I also know that the ADF had some as well but again I couldn't tell you what year.

Well I suppose if I get the narrow radius arms an find out later that it takes the wide type, I can always pack it with some washers, bit hard to do it the other way around.

I'm wondering why you would need a Sals in the front? Maybe if you plan on running 37s and doing seriously rock crawling.

There was this one on ebay UK a few weeks ago. Defender Front Heavy Duty Axle Salisbury axle VERY RARE [RHD] | eBay
