Thanks scallops. It was raining all night and morning and thought I check and sure enough a small paddle about 2 inches wide on both sides.
Well I will make sure they fix it and I mean that, we still have a contract for three years.

    Mine doesnt leak

No leaks in my 2012.... 90 and its dustproof as well. However if parked downhill in heavy rain the roof rack support blocks the drain and water will pour in when you open the door. I was asked if I wanted special seals when I picked mine up but I didn't bother.

I've been lucky mine doesn't leak..well not that I've noticed..but the first time I washed it did have water on the back floor..The rear window had gone down about 10 mm by itself..Another defender quirk..

Most of mine have leaked. So far my 2012 130 hasn't shown signs of leaking but to be honest I won't be too concerned if it does. Actually I'll be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't. As potential problems go it's not a biggie. If it starts leaking I'll just live with it. I really couldn't be bothered harassing the dealers over it, and all the back and forth that that would entail. Or maybe I've just been conditioned (and beaten into submission) from too many years of Defender ownership.

Is it worth fixing.. That is the question. After living through my first defenders 10 visits and 6 months with them attempting to fix, I'm not sure it was worth the effort. That first defender still leaks. But now I have a ribbed sheet of rubber under the floor mats so it dries out quickly. In the process of trying to fix those leaks the dealer and their panel shop used a couple of tubes of silicone, never looked original after that..... I gave up on the end.

My latest defender in Nara bronze is as dry as a bone. I think they took special care on the limited edition.

if its leaking, it is going to be more prone to rusting long term. Bulkheads love to rust, so do doors....

... Nice idea that, leaking from the bottom upwards so as to prevent it from floating away in a water-crossing.

But the OP's is leaking from the top, flooding the car before the ground...

So far, our MY2012 Puma stays good and dry inside during rain.

Being a single cab fewer seals and potential points of ingress. Pretty good with the dust too.
