			TD5 Fuel Gauge variance

					Hi Guys

Replaced the plastic binnacle mount recently with the metal frame from raptor. Apart from requiring a few holes 'adjusting' its a great fit and very very solid. While i did this I also replaced lights with leds and made it look all pretty...

anyways.. filled the deefer (127l long ranger) up before the recent long weekend ready for a fully loaded trip. 4 adults (3 large) full cargo area (beer and heavy stuff) and 1.8t boat on the back with 4 x 20l jerry cans full, 110l of fuel on board and numerous other stuff we couldn't fit in the car. All up I think we were about 5t in weight.

We had a great journey (apart from overboost on a hill which put us into limp mode) but noticed fuel was dissappearing quite quickly.

return journey was great too.. apart from 150k's from home the fuel light came on. wasnt too worried as had spare deisel. Got home no dramas with the needle below the red. Added the jerry can and did another 200+k's (unloaded) needle below the red again.

I rarely push the fuel level this low as above orange needs about 100l so close enough.

went to fill up tonight (with needle below red) and it only took 100l

So... I assume i have disturbed something like an earth which is making the gauge read funny.. do the TD5's use a basic gauge as per previous models? and is it likely to be just an earth?

on a positive note 1070k's for 140l of deisel with 870k's being fully loaded and 100kph.. I am very happy with! Fixing the fuel pressure regulator has helped considerably!

 Steve
