    stopped dead

    Hello all,
Just about to take my son to the skate park and the landy didn't start!!
I don't use her every day so last week would of been the last time she was started no problems, today she started ok but instantly stopped running, not had a look yet, but what would you suggest the problem was? I'm thinking fuel?? Even though she has half a tank, anyway I better have a look!!
    Cheers ted.

    Need more than that man.

Is it turning over? Slow to crank? Sound fuel starved?

As Disco4_tech said, we need more info. Is it locked, does it still turn over, and if it does does it sound even when turning over. If its not turning over, first check it turns over by hand.. then as check your battery terminals right up to the starter. While at the starter, check the small lead is still connected to the solenoid too. If it is turning over, check for smoke at the exhaust as you are winding the starter... No smoke, no fuel. Check the power supply to the pump solenoid. If you have smoke but its white, then your problem lies elsewhere... Let us know how you go!

First check the wire that goes to the back of the injector pump, it's the fuel cut off solenoid. If this terminal gets loose or dirty, it will cut off the fuel supply. It's about a 2min fix.

Thanks, sorry for the little info.
I checked the fuel filter for water all was good there, so then I primed the fuel filter with the lift pump and there seemed to be a lot of air in the systems, not sure if this is normal, anyway couldn't get a good stream of diesel out of the bleed screw on the fuel filter, so thought I'd try and start her again tightened the screw up and turned the key, cranked over and didn't start, so cranked again and gave her some revs as well, and she started gave her a run and filled her up to the brim with diesel, and went for a good run, she never missed a beat?
Question is what would cause this? and is it a sign that some thing is on the way out?
    Cheers ted
