Maybe ... but the tread is a different pattern..

Wish him luck with that as I tried everything to get some more..

and I also thought of offering to sell you mine but when I saw where you were it seemed pointless.. it would have suited me as I only going to use it as a second spare for myself but would obviously prefer it to match what I have one now.. there has been a few people on the forum mention changing the supplied tyres over with something else when the car was still new so there might be some floating around in garages at the moment..

This is the same reason I'll never run out of General Grabber AT tyres...

I have my original 5 on my alloys for long distance black top touring (about 30,000km and looking brand new) and I've got 6 extra "untouched" ones from someone who swap brand new to muddies and an ex spare from a friend who never rotated it in...

I'm actually doing too much driving on the muddies these days as I'm too lazy to swap back after every day trip

    Cheers,

    Lou

Don't know how he did it but the local tyre guy came good and scored me "the last one in the country"...

So now we have our second spare for the trip and I guess our last set of original spec MTRs.

Only other place I could find was in the UK: 4x4 Tyres, extortionate shipping though.

MTR's are good for weekend trips but mine lasted barely 40,000k's in the interior,11 flats from Newman travelling on the Jigalong,Tallawana,Gary Junction,Gary Highway in Jan and I almost had to fill two with sand to get me to the Alice.Michellin from now on for me. Pat

Yeah have read mixed reviews, older style seem to fair better than the new kevlar ones - which were you running? We've had no probs so far with them, in fact quite like them, but they've not been pushed at all.

Problem is the car came with them and rather than ditch 5 brand new tyres I've gone with buying the 6th as a second spare and we'll see how it goes.

u r a damn lucky guy. I have to replaced mines with 4 kevlar MTR as ULR in melbourne was unable to find 4 old tread pattern tires in oz.
btw, my old tires did 90,000km before they were replaced, good tires.

I think the car manufactures buy up all the old stock. The tyres on my wife's Citroen C4 (LEMON) were superceded when we bought the car new & when the car was 1 year old & she damaged a tyre the tyre that replaced the tyres on the car had been superceded.

Think only needing one helped me a lot.

Tyre guy said he was amazed there was even one left, we both half expected it to come back as a typo or database error when he ordered it on the system they use.

Guess my luck was in for a change, doesn't happen much
