Nope. It was supposed to be today, but they screwed up the appointment with opposite lock for the winch, then it was supposed to be tomorrow, but I just got an email saying when the guy turned up to put the driving lights on (which has to be pushed back a week because they ****ed up the winch order) the vehicle was off site, so he left and wont be back until tomorrow. Delivery? Maybe next week....maybe....

Now I get to go back to my boss and tell him I have to move the scheduled day off again (I think this is the 6th change of delivery date) and so does the woman who was going to drive me up there.... Its a few hours drive to the dealer so its not just nipping into town when its ready...

Well past ****ed off now and have pretty much put it out of my mind. It will probably turn up one day, but I am not excited by its arrival like I was for the first 5 or so dates I was supposed to have a new car. Now its just a constant annoying nagging feeling.

This is my first "new" car and it will defnitely be my last. Its pretty much ruined it for me.

    Wink

Why was the vehicle "off site"?
Hang in there mate.....By the time we get ours (hopefully 3 months), you'll have forgotten all of this, you'll have done a few thousand Ks, & will have a continual smile on your face.
    Cheers, Pickles.

Better dig into the details of why they had to do this.
As to mods and additions, before anything else, now that the vehicle will be sparkling new still, take care of rust prevention.
    1. Get it fully Dinitrolled, or if that is not available down there, use another reputable anti rust treatment.
    2. Order a full set of SS nuts and bolts for your model and replace all existing ones by those. Nakatanenga are a good supplier of this, probably there will be a distributor in Australia who carries those.
    3. Replace the standard headlamp bezels by SS versions, probably available also down there, if not, you can order those from the likes of Mobilecentre and 4x4 overlander in UK, Nakatanenga or Entreq in Germany.

By doing this, you make a good start at keeping the truck up to snuff for the long run.

    Thereafter come other mods....

    Defender Mike,

Not to de-rail this thread, but do you have any photo's of the fit out of the rear of your 90 you could post or have posted. I have scoured the forum for storage threads over the past week but I don't remember seeing it.

Did you use the Gomo boxes 440mm x 320mm?

I'm just in the planning stage with my 90 at the moment but not sure which way to go.

    Any pics would be appreciated.

    Eric,

We don't have the snow & ice issues seen in your neck of the woods and so don't have quite the same need for rust prevention as you would. Plus fish oil down the chassis from a schlitz gun is a method suited here.
