    300tdi Starter Motor

    Hi All

I have a choice of 2 starters, one I can have pretty much straight away, a Lucas, or I can wait 3 days for a Bosch for about the same $ or wait a bit longer and get a Bosch from UK for less $

Would like to get going ASAP and would also like to support the local guy, but as the local is Lucas and standard is Bosch I am a bit lost.

    Advice please

Lucas had a history of being unreliable. Bosch, being German, did not.

What is wrong with the current one? I still have my original starter (bosch) have only changed the brushes as they were worn out. Cost something like $150 a few years ago in Darwin. Too hard to do on my own without a bench and tools. The bosch has 4 brushes in it so would have been a PITA to re-fit.

    Solenoids gone.

will repair as spare, but will repalce for now. The parts in Oz are as much as a new one to do bushes and solenoid and no time to arrange from UK.
