    Blinkers coming on on rough roads?

    My 2012 130 turns both blinkers on if I'm on a rough road, corrugations or a slight jolt from a cattle grid or pothole. If I push the hazard light button on the dash, the little triangle comes on with the blinkers. The only way to fix it is to turn the engine off and then back on and they go out. I left them on yesterday, hopped out and tried to lock the car but nothing happened...? I'm thinking it's related to an immobiliser issue. Ive had td5 do a similar thing with the fuel cutoff but that was a total engine shutdown after getting slightly airborne..any ideas would be welcome, it's going to the dealers today for a look.

    This is interesting....we had exactly the same thing happen recently to our 2006 TD5 Defender on the Gove track. After hitting a sharp washout in the road the hazard lights came on and the symptoms were identical to yours.

    I'm pretty sure that the cause is the immobiliser.

    I would be interested to hear what your dealer suggests.

    The inertia sensor came loose with my puma and caused the same. Another skimp of locktite with the Defender!!

    This happens to mine too. 2008 110.

    Would be great to fix it...stopping and restarting is for Windows XP, not land Rover Defenders!

    The inertia switch is on the firewall under the bonnet. My experience with these is that the fuel pump also stops, but this hasn't happened on this occasion.

    I have had the inertia switch trip on a TD5 Disco 2, several years ago after hitting a cattle grid a bit too quickly. This stopped the car dead, also with all indicators flashing. This had to be manually reset by pushing down on the switch itself.

    That was the problem, only one screw holding it on, the said if they tapped it with a screw driver it would trigger the blinkers..two screws installed and it's good as gold...I still don't know where it is!
