    Jesus handle in TD5 90

Has anyone fitted a Jesus handle to above the passenger door of their TD5?
I did have the roof liner off a few months ago buy never took any photos of what was behind it above the door.
I'm assuming there some kind of thick steel/aluminum support.
    Mine is a 2003 90.
My girlfriend needs something to hold onto when I'm driving. Yes I'm expecting some crude joke about the last comment.
It gets a bit rough in the front seat..... ;-)

There is a pressed steel channel that runs the length of the body, if you look at the underside of the lining you should see two plastic press studs that push into the underside. Sadly the lining is about 12 mm proud of the channel. I simply took a grab handle from another vehicle, then drilling a couple of larger holes and put in a couple of heavy self tapping screws.

I just put one from a rover/mg in mine colour match is exact.

To get around the gap between head liner and channel I used 25mm alu box. I just put some nutseerts in the steel channel then bolted the alu to that and put nut serts in the alu to attach the handle. I'm afraid I didn't take photos of the process but can post ones of the result.

I believe that the inspiration was from a post somewhere on AULRO.

I did one for Mrs Spud on our PUMA, and put up a post of how it all got done. If you do a bit of searching using my user name I reckon you'll find it. Wasn't all that difficult. Improved relations greatly!

    Cheers

    Thanks for the link.

So the answer is that I will have to remove all the roof liner and put some kind of spacers in behind it. Don't really fancy seeing brackets on the under side if the roof lining.
Was hoping there was no gap and I could just drill two holes and put in self tapers.
