Driver's window on Puma stuck open

Well after 5 years of corrugations and so forth the driver's window wound down yesterday with a loud "crack" and disappeared into the door

This was as we leeft home to go out bush for bbq. It wasn't going to wind up so we had a dusty 60km trip

Anyway pulled it apart today thinking (from Disco 1 & 2 days) it would be the regulator rollers had busted. Wrong! All that had happened was one of the retaining bolts under the glass had dropped out and the other had loosened enough that the mechanism and glass detached. All back together again and unlike Land Rover I have put some mild locktite on all the threads as there was none. Now I just have to check the other 3 doors I guess

That it is. Felt sure I was going to have a week with a faulty window.

News came out of the blue as I've only just got back from leave a week back. Guess time will tell.

Hey Derek its a known fault that the bolts in the door can come loose for the window..

I have asked Ian some time ago to check ours because there is an annoying rattle which sounds like it is in the B pilar on ours been there for over a year and it wouldn't surprise me if that was it
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Looks like I'll have to check the bolts in my windows before we head up to the Central Arnhem Highway, seem like the corrugations rattle them loose

You lucky yours lasted 5 years, i got to just under 2 before it happened on the drivers window one night. Pulled it apart and fixed it, then had the dealer fix it properly at the next service

Is the known problem only with the drivers window or all of them, as it has only happened to the one so far.

I'm pretty sure that's it Lou. We had a rattle from B-piller or driver's side rear door for about the last year too and hadn't been able to track it down. Strangely it seems to have gone now
