    Owners not enthusiasts!

Now I have your attention, I was going to post this rather boring question in the freelander section but I see posts on there are few and far between, (it seems that the freelander crew are more owners than enthusiasts) so I thought I would ask here.

I am trying to rig up the fabled cruise control on my 2004 TD5 Defender and have got hold of a freelander rear window switch as the set/resume and a defender heated seat switch as the master switch.

My question is does anybody know what each pin for these switches?

    Many thanks

    John

    Try this

Land Rover Forum in Africa • View topic - Defender TD5 Cruise Control

I used a latching relay to activate it seemed logical at the time but every time you start the car it is armed this isnt an issue you can just kill it if required

    Thanks for the reply,

I had seeen that post and that was probably one of the most useful out there.

What I was actually after was what each if the pins on the freelander window and the heated seat switch are? the freelander switch has 6 pins numbered 1-6.

I have found this for the heated seat switch so it should be all good for the master swith to sockets 10 & 15 on the black ecu plug.

    Pin 1 = 12V+ power in
Pin 2 = Switch illumination (on with parking lights)
Pin 3 = Earth for switch illumination and telltale
Pin 4 = Switched power out (to heated seat relay)
    Pin 5 = Blank
