    Mulgo seat extension rails

    Just got a set of seat rails sent to me, what a difference!!, it feels like I am driving the old Range Rover Classic with a shed load more legroom too! With the rear access storage draw now under the cubby box, I don't have to even lift my arm from the cubby to change gears. Now looking at a set of steely's and muddies to save the alloys when off road. I have lodged the application and just have to get it authorised by MOTWAF, (Minister of Territorial Warfare and Finance).

    Smile any chance.....

    of a pic of drawer/cubby set up Ezyrama ? and is the extra height using the seat rails noticeable cheers

    Hi cooperat,

    After many years of driving Defenders with the seat in the normal position the slightly higher seat base was a little noticeable at first, but I got used to it in less than a day. I'm 6'1" and could not believe the difference in comfort (I was perfectly happy in a Defender before!!!).

    Seat rails are amazing. I'm a tad under 6' and just managed without. My son is 6'5" and has to have them. Best $90 bucks eva!

    Just curious, when you have the seat rails fitted and you are using the full length, do your kids in the back lose their knee caps?

    Hi Guys
    Probably but I don't sit in the back so I don't care. Seriously, yes it does encroach on the leg room but for me, I am 5'11" and I find I cant sit all the way back as it is too much of a stretch now. We only have one kid now that comes with us now so it just means she has to sit behind her evil mother instead of lil' ol' me
    Photo 1 is sets at full extension without rails.
    Photo 2 is rails fitted.
    Photo 3 is rails fitted with seat fully back
    Photo 4 is box under seat for rear seat storage (not completed yet)
    Photo 5 is roughly where I have set set too.

    Mulgo Seat Rails

    Hi Ian
    Looks like a good mod. Are they easy to fit ?, would hate to brake hard and have the seat come lose.

    Tony,

    Very easy fit (just make sure you take note of the spacer washer sequence!)

    They will never come loose under any normal condition (if fitted properly of course) and the seat itself remains on its own rail, so there is no difference in operation.

    Really good investment.
