Hi guys,
I've finally bit the bullet and I take delivery of my brand new 7 seater Defender 110 next week. Ordered it with snorkle, MT tyres and rear tow pack as part of the deal.
I'm looking for suggestions on a winch bumper. ARB, TJM etc.
Would like to hear about suppliers, prices different options.
I'm based in WA.
Fire away.
Thanks
Ian

First of all, congratulations. I hope you have years of motoring joy out of it, wherever you choose to take it. Buying a 110 changed my life for the better in no uncertain terms.
My bullbar is the Opposite Lock one - I'm not sure who actually makes them...worth calling and asking Gordon at South Sydney OL. He's a Defender man and suggested to me that the ARB one sits a bit too close to the body for his liking....in case of an animal strike he didn't want to risk having to repair the fenders too.
The cost was about the same and he was doing some other work for me so convenience won the day here for me.

Thanks for the info . . . . But Sydney is a bit far as I'm in WA . . .

I've been offered an ARB for $1055 supply only. Are these easy to fit with basic mechanic skills?
Good deal ?. . . . .should I take that ?
Any other suggestions?

I believe that's a very good price. New?
They are a bit of a pollava to fit. There are a couple of big holes to drill in the chassis plate and in the spacer blocks once everything is lined up. You really need a hydraulic jack. I managed to do it on my own, but an extra pair of hands would have been a lot easier.
I'm sure people from here would be happy to help fit it. If you're SOR I can help you out a bit if you're happy to fit it at my place, so I can do other work at the same time. If you want to do this, send me a PM and I'll give you phone number, so we can discuss it, and address details.
Cheers

I should have measured the wheel distances to the arches before and after, but didn't. What I can say is that I did not notice at all the difference with bullbar and winch on the front and the roof tent on top, as far as the ride "level" goes. The little beast seems to sit exactly the same as it did when new, so if it has squatted at all, it has done it only slightly and evenly.
