    Diesel fuel tank sender

    Hi all,

What's the proper way to remove the fuel sender lock ring from the tank of a 1993 Deefer?

Also, the new sender I'm fitting has a plastic fuel pickup pipe whereas the old one-which is now broken-is metal. What's the best way to connect the old metal pipe to the plastic one?
I guess it's with plastic fuel line and utilux clips?

Not sure if its the "correct" way, but I use a large screwdriver and hammer and gently tap the ring around. Tap a bit on one side, then the other.

No dramas the couple of times I've had to do it.

If the connection on the new unit is the same diameter as the plastic fuel line then a bit of rubber fuel hose and some hose clamps should do the job nicely.
If you're concerned about the rubber not sealing on the plastic hose just make the overlap a bit longer and put 2 clamps.

Many thanks Steve. I thought that was the idea.
