It will take any std footing winch that will fit between the rails and mount up.
Warn, ironman, mako etc.
I bet it's not ARB but an ARB agent feeding you that BS?
Hi guys,
Apologies if this has been covered before and I am fully aware of raising the topic of "what winch" but I need a little help.
Story so far . . . . .
110 bought . . . .check
Snorkle fitted . . . . .check
MTR's fitted . . . . .check
Rear tow ack fitted . . . .check
Winch Bullbar required......... Been offered a good deal to have an ARB deluxe winch bullbar fitted . . . . .BUT . . . .
Was considering waiting for a winch and fitting myself when I had some spare $$$$$ in the future . . . .however . . . Guys at ARB are telling me the ARB deluxe winch bullbar is only WARN winch compatible !!!
Is this true ? . . . Or does anybody know what other winches would fit. I was considering an i.e. Ironman 12000lb.
All advice and guidance will be much appreciated.
Ian

I am also interested as i have the ARB winch bar and don't want to spend big bucks on a winch as i don't see myself using it very often. It is more of a safety device to get me out of trouble if i'm out on my own etc. Last time i was in ARB i asked about winches and they now sell a 10,000lb 'Smittybilt' winch which is apparently made by Warn for $992. That is what i have my eyes on at the moment.
It was ARB who informed me that it wouldn't take other type . . . Probably because they are major stockist of WARN winches.
Thanks for the info.
Its funny this topic should pop up as I was at the ARB shop in Fyshwick, ACT today pricing an ARB bar for the 90. The bloke there told me the same thing, that they only guarantee them to fit (said they were built around) 8, 9 and 9500lb Warn winches.
Another ridiculous little pointer with ARB is they don't offer ANY weight specs for their bars or any of their products according to him. Is that just ARB's arrogance that people will buy off their 'name' not what suits the customer. I wanted to see what the weight difference is between their bars and a tube bar. It does make if difficult to make an 'informed' decision................ggggggrrrrrrrrrr.
Can't go wrong with a Warn winch, why buy twice? Just take it off and put it on the next car, it will outlive you.
I have the ARB delux winch bar and the new Smittybuilt winch 10,000 lb winch on my 110. It was an ARB guy that suggested that winch to me. However they do have to mount that winch upside down to fit it. The clutch leaver gets in the way otherwise. Haven't used it in anger yet. Can't remember the last time I saw a big puddle of mud. Hasn't rained up here for a while.
Cheers,
Danial.
The ARB bars are only suitable for low mount winches, if you have a Warn high mount winch then modifications are required. I wasn't keen to cut up a new or near new bar.

Hi guys, we predominantly sell and fit Warn winches. It makes sense then that all of our bars are designed and engineered to fit Warn winches.
Obviously we don't test fit competitor winches, so whilst other brands may well physically fit, we can't guarantee this will be the case with all models or whether or not modifications need to be made to accommodate them.
From the sound of it, this is the message our sales staff are trying to get across.
Cheers, Sam.
