Clank noise when changing gears Question

Nearly three months after I bought the new def 110 I notice that when I depress the clutch and change gears clanking noise is started to get more noticeable.
    Is this another defender quirk?
Sounds like pressure plate springs getting loose to me?

Definitely has the trademarks of a bigger truck

    Cheers

Dealer should be able to sort that out. On my previous defender it stated clunking like that because the input splines on the rear diff had come loose, they needed to retorque the nut and loctite it. Fixed it.

    Thrust washers

Mine has what they call back lash, a clunk. Its the thrusrwashers in the gearbox. Last service the dealer told me mine was worse than most and they will fix it next service under warranty. My 2012 90 has done 28,000ks the back lash was a lot more noticeable before i fitted out the rear with drawers etc. My wife seems to be able to make it apear louder than me with her quick off the clutch changes.

Clank noise when changing gears Question

hi just want to make sure,
Did the clank occur before you release the clutch?

I have a click noise simply when slotting the gear stick (nothing engaged yet)... ,which is quite new to me

    My clunking happens ..........

I get the clunking too when changing gears , more so lately , unless i really nurse the uplift of the clutch. I also have it when in gear after being of the accelerator and then applying the right foot on the accelerator , it tends to clunk.

It sounds to me like the car needs a whole bunch of tightening under neath. I know I need new trailing arm bush's , as they have 4mm gap and going over bumps also brings on unwanted clunks.

I will put it in to service very soon , but keen to get some feedback of what these issues may be from your experience. ( BTW Car is 08 Puma 100,000 Km's )
