    chequer plate prices

Why are land rover chequer plate add-ons(wingtops/bonnet etc) in Australia so expensive compared to the UK- it's like half the price or even less in the UK.

Yes, well I learned the hard way. Ordered mine locally purely because I didnt want to wait for mine to come from overseas and I think it's good to support local business's, and it turns out they just order it from overseas anyway despite advertising that the items were in Australia.

    Never again.

    Guys,

I've dealt with these guys for many years and their packaging and posting to Australia is superb. I currently have their black chequer plate on my Puma's wings. If you want natural aluminium, just follow the link on the website.

The Patriot branded units sold by Juddy here on the forum is superb quality, but prohibitively expensive in my opinion.

    All 4 Wheels

    Cheers,

    Lou

    It's a rip off alright.

Best option would be to get some cut locally to shape from 3mm chequerplate.

Could try a trailer place or ute body building or toolbox manufacturing place as they may have offcuts suitably sized....

    Luck.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I have to disagree the Patriot ones we sell are good value for money compared to the lesser quality cheaper brands, you get what you pay for.

In fact there dead cheap really because there exactly the same as the Genuine Land Rover ones, yet $400 cheaper. That makes them a bargain....

I got some from a local aluminium business, who is also a Land Rover guy. They were very cheap, but not as well finished as some. I will tidy them up myself and fit them soon.

Here's another vote for The Patriot stuff. What hast been discussed so far are all the fixings, gaskets etc that you get with the patriot stuff - OK so that not massive cost, but it all adds up.

Comparing the cheaper stuff To the patriot stuff is like comparing apples and oranges. The only thing it is comparable to is the genuine LR stuff; then its cheap!
