Thanks Liam. The circumferences are approximately 725mm to suit the shorter strap or 775mm for the longer strap. I've just bought a gas bottle from BigW that appears to be in the ball park, so as soon as I get a chance I'll check it to see if it is actually the correct size or not.

I have the small and large Frontrunner gas bottle holders. The Manchester branded 2kg, and 4kg bottles are pretty much a perfect fit for these holders. They were purchased some time ago, and I think it was from K MART or BigW. one of these two.

John, I have an old 4kg with 725mm circ, needs a retest as 97 expires but believe can be done cheap. Gasmate brand.
All yours if you want it.

I finally got around to finishing this off this weekend. The 4Kg CampMaster cylinder from Big W fits with the smaller of the two straps that come with the carrier. The latch is adjustable and it just required a minor adjustment to snugly fit the cylinder. Case closed! Thanks to everyone for sharing your experience, advice and offers.

    what is legal

Hi, need clarity re using say a Front Runner gas bottle holder on the rear of my Defender ute box--I have seen a number mounted on the rear panels of Defender wagons but is that legal or not? I previously had one mounted on the rear of my 101 motorhome and that was ok, but now people seem to say you can not have a bottle (small up to 4ks) mounted at the rear at all. I know some carry on roof racks but my question is re the rear of say a wagon, or the rear of a slideon type box/canopy.
    Thanks,Alan

UN division 2.1 (other than aerosols) (this is the UN code for LPG)
    UN division 2.3*
