    Dismantling tdi gauges

In my 200tdi gauges all of the green lenses inside the gauges have snapped by my rather hamfisted method or removal (3 were already broken so its not all my fault).
From what I can see the outer ring of the gauge, the surround holding the glass in, needs to be folded out to remove the main housing. Is this the case?
Or is it a case or replace the whole gauge?
Any feedback or experiences would be appreciated as my google searches just come up with 'replace with a td5 cluster'
    Cheers,
    Joe

Can you just swap the white globes for some coloured LED's?

I still have the green cases in the gauges, could always drill them up to shatter them.

And i think the internals may be a bit loose. hit a bump offroad and the temp gauge doesn't read right,

Yes you can fold the rim of the bezel out and remove the glass. You need a fine screwdriver or a quality O Ring pick. Just be aware that there is no way this side of hell will the rim fold back neatly into place again! Having done all that it is most likely the gauge is non repairable. They do die, you may be lucky and it is only a screw on the dial face come loose

Meant to update this after I did the job this morning.
I was unsuccessful bending the edge of the bezel back, and figured I'd never get it sealed again like from the factory.
So I hit it with an angle grinder and took the edge of the bezel off.
I'm now going to replace the gauges, and probably just glue the white tubes to the back of te speedo to hold the new bulbs in.
    Cheers for the reply,
    Joe

Bushman has a thread on replacing dash lights in a 200 defer with LEDs, think it was in the tutorial.
There was a video as well
Vdo are pretty cheap and readily available
I use Howard's instaments, pretty cheap although I am local
Ill post your order if that saves $$$$$
    Dc
Ps I think bushman broke the coloured green globe holder but used green LEDs anyway
