New Defender owner Ex Discovery 3 owner nearly

I will receive my defender 110 wagon this weekend and I am very excited to say the least,,,,,I am probably quite a rare land rover owner who is moving from a Discovery to a Defender... I think the move is for the best and so does my accountant....
So I am just introducing myself

    ah, good evening 'scissor-boy' !

you will find the defender a totally different experience, a character filled vehicle!

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

The Disco is more comfortable and practical but everyone still wants a Defender

I disagree - not so as to start an argument, rather to offer an alternative view. To qualify this, I'm comparing a D2a HSE to a TDi 110 (not a D3 to a new 110).

The Disco is "plush" and easy to jump into for around town errands.

Any drive over two hours, and I want to be in the 110.

The Defender has a more "supportive" seating / driving position. You can drive 12 hours a day for two weeks straight and never have a sore back in a 110.

So I suppose it comes down to how we define "comfortable" - is it "plush" or "supportive"?

This does not apply to rear seat passengers though.

As for practical! My rear seat passengers would rather take the D2 on a trip, and I sympathise with them, but the thing is no where near as practical as the 110. Yes my 110 has way more accessories, but it carries more, more easily, with better clearance, better size tyres and simpler mechanicals.

Congratulations herrBlick, the Defender will put a smile on your face, and it's character building, so it will make you a better man too.

He drove a Mercedes, and commissioned the Volkswagen.

    We're talking "British" character here.

Let's not confuse "character" with "design"

    I've done the Disco thing..

    D1 Rosignol - D2 ES - D3 TDV6 SE.

Now in a Defender 110 since 2008 and love it. Yeah it's different but so much more fun.

    Defender is King.

Congrats mate. I stepped out of a Disco 4 se into a 10 year old defender and am loving it.
The defender definitely has more character.

Will already I feel confident I've made the right decision, getting a welcome like ....thank you.
I mean don't get me wrong I really loved my discovery 3, it was my first car after all,,,, but to be honest it was a bloody money pit,
The security of a brand new car is what I need,
So lets get down to business

I need to get an auxiliary battery system sorted, do I go to DRIVESAFE again?
    what's the best location?
    Tips?
