    Engine running after turn off

    Hey guys,

This happens sometimes and I don't know why, after turning of the Defender the engine rumbles and shakes then stops.

Its a 2012 Defender 2.2 if that helps.

    Cheers

    Euan

Just a bit of a guess here but maybe a lose ground wire on the ECU causing a bit of delay in fuel shut off etc?

I'm only basing this on a recent incident (with my 03 Defender) where I could completely remove my key from the ignition and the engine would run quite happily provided I had my foot on the brake. Once I took my foot off the brake the engine stopped - all due to a lose ground from the ECU and eletrickery issues.

Like I say though, just a guess...

If it were an older diesel I'd suggest leaking orings in the turbo. Not quite sure how the vn turbos are built.
