Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone. Didn't end up chasing the one near Newcastle. Was selling from an auction house, looked like a good project for someone but maybe not so suited to a newbie.

The 09 one posted in this thread looks like a real ripper, much better than an FJ cruiser

We did it!

My09 110 from QLD. Very stock, rock sliders only addition. Bit of a blank slate.

Taking a couple of days off work and going to drive it back to Vic mid November. Looking forward to getting a whole lot of waving practice on the trip down.

Not sure if Don's (aka goingbush) td5 is still for sale, but if it is I would highly recommend it. I was really impressed with the way Don has sorted it out. I don't think we suited it in the end, but a brilliant td5.

My current bed time reading is the workshop manual and aulro posts . Keeping me satisfied for the minute, but not making waiting to pick it up go any faster.

Have a feeling it will be close to 100,000 km when we get back to Vic. Any top tips for a new puma owner? Or 'must check' basics before the drive back?
