    TD5 coolant hoses - Same for Disco/Defender?

    Hi all.
Cant really find a definitive answer, I want to replace the whole cooling system. If I were to buy a kit for a Disco TD5, is it actually the same for a Fender?

One mob in the UK said they are different, but couldnt tell me how or why, then stopped returning emails.

This post from Redback says they are the same though.

    Cheers

Totally different i'm afraid, only the little secret heater hose is the same, the one under the turbocharger attached to the oil cooler housing. TD5 Heater hose PBH101980G

No, they are not the same.

While some D2 hoses may be the same Defender hoses, others are not.

The fill bottle (expansion tank) and the heater are in different positions between vehicles for a start, meaning different hoses.

iirc there is no kit as such for the defender td5, only disco2. a competent parts interpreter should be able to sort all of it out for you if you supply your vin number.

    Hi Fraz,
If you are looking to do preventative maintenance on your CW system don't forget the two o-ring seals in the fuel heater under the inlet manifold, I did all my hoses and filled the system only to fine one of the -rings leaked, drained the system down again and started again........Cheap enough and easy enough just get forgotten sometimes.
