    Another Draws thread

Getting a little closer to finishing the Draws in my Puma 90.

Construction is all 12mm ply except the top 'deck' is 18mm form ply.

the frame inside the car is bolted in using the old seat mounting points, contains a woofer box at the front to house an 8" woofer in the future.
currently the 'wasted' space on the drivers side is sealed but has been build ready to accommodate my ARB air compressor and power inverter. the panel at the rear will have 12V and 230V power points.

Im trying to find a nice compact single or two chanel amp ro run the woofer that may also fit in this box but not haivng much luck so may need to design and build one.

I plan to steal the military under window box idea and build my own from ply for when I can eventually get some gull wing windows on the back, these will house 6.5" speakers up behind the front seats also due to they will be obstructing the rear factory speakers, ill get to building them when I have the time. along with the face plate for the draw itself to make it look nicer.

also need to pull it all out paint/seal it, then carpet the whole lot (once the side boxes are done) fit some alloy angle tot he draw for strength and tot eh edges of the deck.

I think it has turned out okay for the cost.

900mm locking slides 125KG rated $71.00 for the pair
    2x 2400x1200 sheets of 12mm ply at $34 each
    1x 1800x1200 sheet of 18mm form ply $60

so for a cost of around $200 so far I am happy with them, glue and screws I already had. I think one more sheet of 12mm ply will build my side boxes and face plate. a few bucks on paint to seal it and some carpet should come in well under the price of a commercial product

(and yes I know I will have a lot of people tell me how heavy it is but it doesn't bother me )

    Thanks Paul,

its a Tigerz11 rack 2100x1150 with the 'long legs' was $399 New I think, pretty light considering its steel. cannot remeber exact weight though. the legs are at full width to fit the defender though it was sheer luck it fits as they told me it wouldn't.

Mounted my old Engle fridge slide to the top yesterday using 4 bolts, seems sturdy. seems all the bearings on my slide are stuffed though and make it very hard to use, will need to source some new bearings I think.

Will throw a photo up tomorrow, thinking of some sort of in draw organiser, though not 100% sure on how yet though. . .

You could always use drawer slides/drawer runners!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I do have a set of 700mm 45KG slides sitting around, though I also already own the Engle slide, and I think i need about 8 bearings at $4 each its not that bad, where as using the slides I have to mount them somehow and then also fit a locking mech, I think fixing the bearings on the Engle slide is the bet option

    Thanks
    Leroy
