I've searched "The Good Oil" and Defender2.net and a few other places, but I can't find anything with instructions on how to bleed the brakes on a PUMA
I had a bit of a play around in the shed today with my vacuum bleeder. Pushed (or rather sucked) 500ml of new fluid through the system the old fashioned 'non-ABS' way, but I am betting there is a proper way to do it.
Also, the brake fluid container is split into 2 sections, with a wall between them, but opening the filler cap only gives you access to one section. How are you supposed to clear the old fluid out of the section with no access? For the section with access, I just vacuumed out the old fluid and put in fresh fluid before I started bleeding...
The ABS Pump also requires bleeding and flushing and I understand that something like a Nanocom can be used to engage the ABS pump to flush it. That's the bit I don't have. SO I always get it done by my mechanic. The ABS pump is so expensive that I figure safer to have someone else to blame if they break it.
IF you have the electronics then if you search the online technical manual for the PUMA will tell you how to change the brake fluid.
Thanks for that PDF. Looks like doing it with a vacuum bleeder is an OK way to do it, so that is good.
Still puzzled as to how to get fresh fluid into the 2nd section of the fluid reservoir though.... Might try it again using the brake pedal pressing method.
I've discovered, that with a small tube, I can vacuum out the old fluid in the 2nd section of the reservoir, so that is solved.
I read a post here where someone made up a lead to switch the ABS pump on (you take out the relay first) but it was for a D2. Anything similar for a PUMA?

I have a 2015 Puma 110, which has ABS.
I had recently had 3 of the ABS pipes open for 2 days whilst I installed a redbooster clutch, and today I tried to bleed but its still not right.
To Bleed, this is what I did:-
I purchased a SP Tools Brake Bleeding kit, filled it with Super DOT 4 and attached it to the master cylinder and presurrised to 20 PSI
Waited 10 mins then visually checked for leaks, none found
Attached clear hose to Front Right caliper and bled no bubbles
Bled Front Left - there were littles bubbles, but I pumped about 250ml, anbd there were still bubbles, so I thought I'll look at the rear wheels
Rear Left - Pumped about 300ml thru it but there were lots of bubbles
Rear Right - as above
All up used about 1.5 Litres, tested the car and although the brakes work they are a little spongy.
Rang up Brighton Landrover to ask the bleed sequence, but they refused to help me
My thoughts are that I might be bleeding in the wrong sequence or that the ABS pump needs cycling (I dont have a tool for that, hence the reasons for still little bubbles).
Also, has anyone tested the ABS bleeding method by removing the relay and bridging the contacts - does it work?
any advice?
