I bought the 110 November last year and went straight to WA and back from Melbourne. Had 10,000 on it before Christmas. First service 20,000 and thats when the problems began...which is not a reflection on the car.
Go the road trip!

Go the road trip indeed :)
Picked my 110 up from the dealer in late July and took it straight up the river the following weekend. Only issue I had was a cracked windscreen (and feeling like it was going to tip over going around corners on the highway - it didn't. And I am now used to it and I don't feel like it is going to tip over now).
I also think the first service being so far in is a bit odd - like has been said, if it's run in prior and the oil is changed that's fine, but if not... Oh wells :S
ENJOY - I know I am :)

A month?!!...Time flys!
To be honest, we haven't had much time to drive her yet, so only done about 500ks!
Certainly an "iconic" vehicle, & we both enjoy driving her,....whilst we haven't driven her much, she certainly attracts plenty of attention, mainly from drivers of very expensive cars? Haven't come across another Defender, whilst driving her, so haven't been able to give the "Defender Wave".
Driving? Well we certainly did not expect, or want, her to be "fast". So, we find the driving pretty good. I guess you could say that initial takeoff is maybe a bit slow, but the 6 speed gearbox is EXCELLENT, a pleasure to shift, with a good spread of ratios...I'd say that the gearbox would be a major reason to get a late model if considering purchase. She is fine in traffic, we seem to keep her in the 1200/ 2200 rev range.
The driving position is excellent..I am 6', & have plenty of leg room, wifey has no worries with the driving position either.
We will going up to Wycheproof for a few days at the end of the month, so we'll probably do around 1000ks then, so we're looking forward to seeing how she performs on a trip.
One thing I will say, is that I'm discovering the joy of "driving" again. All of our recent cars have been autos, & most have been powerful V8s..we still own one. Gracie is not like them, you really have to "drive" her, & we are enjoying that. The lack of outright speed is not an issue at all, one can only do 100ks in whatever car you're in!
Cheers, Pickles.

Ah Pickles, i just love checking this thread and perving at the lovely Gracie :)
It just makes me all the more impatient while waiting for the delivery of our Keswick green 110. Aiming for March.
Cheers,
Nige

G'Day Nige.
Yeah, well we waited 6 months,.....same for you?
You'll be happy with Keswick, it really suits the Defender we reckon, we are surprised that we don't see more in this colour.
Do you have a Keswick roof as well, what options have you specified?
Regards, Pickles.

I was lucky, saw a 90 in Keswick with black roof yesterday. Put a deposit down. Will be picking it up on Wednesday. Don't know what you guys are on about with these 6 month waits. ;)
