Just regarding the clutch. I find the clutch in the Puma really light and just did my first sydney traffic over the weekened and the clutch was great. Maybe it's because I am used to triple plate clutches that rattle, give you quad pump and are really heavy. The idea of an auto is nice but the clutch is not heavy at all.

Or get an uber-cool D90 Tdi ute with auto trans for less than half the price of a new one...

Go on, you know you want to

    Thinking my options are:
    - Buy used td5 D90
    - Buy new puma here D90 from dealership
    - Import new
There are pros/cons for each option, I'm just wondering who/what deals are around locally (Aus) from any dealerships. Has anyone imported a new 90 recently? how has the price compared to off the lot of a dealership?
Pro's of the td5 used would be mainly price. Cons - lack of options (although I dont need to be fancy)
Pro's of puma are new options, warranty, looks (minor exterior upgrades). Con's - price.
It doesn't seem the Defenders MY13 are taking any cuts on price as of yet.
What did U end up doing, never did see any of those Ubeaut Deals advertised this year

Or get a 300 Tdi Defender 90 Ute, complete with an auto gearbox. A mate of mine has one and it's always "on the market" if the money is right....

I have been keeping an eye out for a second hand puma 90 anywhere from 2011 to 2013 models - I find that most of the ones coming up for sale are priced way over the recommended sale price on redbook. It almost seems that people are pricing the cars at the original price they bought it for and then add the original price for each accessory they have added to the car..: )

Has anyone bought a secondhand 90 or 110 recently? Did you have to haggle on the price quite a bit or was your purchase in your opinion priced at what it was worth?

I would agree with your comments.

I had spent the last few months keeping an eye on 2013 90's and their pricing.

Some of the pricing people are asking are crazy really. Cars close to retail at 2 years old with 30k km.

    For instance.

2013 - looks very nice but $50k +on roads is ridiculous. You can drive away a brand new 2014MY on the road for less that this, with nigh on identical spec if you speak to your local dealer.

    2013 Land Rover Defender 90 13MY

Less said about the pricing of this one the better: 2010. 40k km. $45k +onroads :

    2010 Land Rover Defender 90 10MY

Another one that is just as bad...

    2012 - 30km $43k + onroads

    2012 Land Rover Defender 90 12MY

If you have a local dealer, give them a call. You may be suprised.

I ended up ordering a new one.

I have looked at all of them and wondered if people realise that one could get a brand new car for that price or cheaper once you take into account that with a car purchased from a dealer I will get the GST back.

Also had a look at this great looking 110. It started off at $65k + onroad and now it is advertising a massive price drop - Now going at bargain basement price of $60k + onroad.. : )

    2013 Land Rover Defender 110 13MY

It is an awesome truck, but in my opinion way overpriced..
