Roof rack for roof top tent

    Hi Folks,

I'm planning on getting a roof top tent for my defender in the near future, and was wondering if the Tigerz 11 roof top tent racks fit defenders. The salesman at their office wasn't too sure. ARB don't make one for defenders. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Jono

Wether it fits or not, tigerz 11 roof racks are rubbish. Spend the coin and buy a quality one.

Hi Jono, I'd personally recommend a Front Runner rack. I've got one on my 2013 Hilux and will also be getting one on my Defender. I see you're at Sunshine Beach...I'm around the Noosa area...if you'd like to check it out you're welcome.

I went down this line of enquiry when buying my rack. If memory serves me correct the Tigerz legs are only 1900mm high. The Rhino legs are 2100mm high and there isn't much clearance on my 110. At 1900mm you might find clearance problems. Probably more so when you are articulated and the roof flexes. Also with the Tigerz rack you have to factor in the U bolts to mount your RTT.

    My rack with 2100mm legs.

I concur with the prior posts, spend the money and buy an alloy rack with quality assurances. Alloy will save you a stack of weight at a location where weight is your enemy.

I have a tigerz 11 full flat rack, quality is the same as mates ARB racks. are nigh on identical to each other also, I have the tallest legs they do (they shouldn't charge extra for this) and the legs spread to there widest and its a perfect fit for my 90 overhangs front and back buy about 2cms. i don't know what peoples issue with the quality is, on some things yes, on the racks, I would not be surprised if they come out of the same factory as ARB.

you can come check mine out if you like (45km north of Brisbane) or I can try and take some photos for you.

I've got a full fronts runner on mine110 and have hade it there for about 8 years
Roof top tent goes on it very easy and been across Simpson desert 5 times.
No hassles at all and even when the tent is off I don't even know it's there
    Very strong and very practical
    Hope this helps
