    Rear Springs...falling out

    Hi All
Is using hose clamps acceptable to retain rear springs these days. Or should l spent $160 on Dislocation Cones?

So what is the cause of them falling out? Longer shock absorbers? I personally have hose clamps on the front springs of my ute and have had no issues. Depends on how much travel you want. Also means you are stretching the springs and not compressing them. If you are doing this a lot it will not be good for the springs. In my case it is only at near maximum front travel that the hose clamps are needed. So not often that I stretch the springs and then only by a small margin. You may need to look at longer springs, dislocation cones or limit straps. I have limit straps on the rear. These are a length of 8mm cable, one end attached to the trailing arm and the other to the chassis. Cheaper than dislocation cones and better than hose clamps. But as the name implies will limit the amount of travel.

    Hi there,
Yeah. TerraFirma shocks are long. KING springs.
Just need to retain the spring in the hanger...cable ties at the moment (track side job).
