I was under the impression, in Victoria, driving on the beach was a big no no.
Happy new year everyone and hope 2014 is even a happier year for all.
After some crazy new year eve celebrations, am just getting over the hangover so I decided to take my family to Lakes Entrance (Vic) on the 15th for a week to unwind.
Apart from spending time on the beach swimming and Buchan caves, I want to do some fan 4wdriving on sand. Has anyone had any experience in that region.
Cheers

x2, I believe beach driving in Vic is illegal
Yeah, it is definitely a no no, and you'll find it almost impossible to find a spot to access the beach with a vehicle, they have it locked up tight down there.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
Jack smiths half way down the 90 mile beach has easy beach access, but not this time of year as there will be rangers, tracks in the loch sport national park up to the jetty, few tracks around from port welshpool north, but all very short
Victoria, the place where fun is banned
I think there might be some stuff worth seeing in croajingolong national park, but i've not been as yet
Years ago we did a day trip you may find ticks the box.
Look at heading to Bemm River and aim for Marlo pub for dinner.
We did through Cape Conran NP on the sand tracks
From having a quick look it may have been Pearl Point Tk, East Tk an onto the Old Coast Road.
You'll have to check with Parks Vic(or whatever they are called this week) to see whats open.
Have a look around Cape Conran if you have time too, we did find a snake while on a bush walk so keep an eye oye out.
There are a few tracks leading to the back of the sand dunes to the east of the Lake Tyres opening if your looking for a quiet bit of beach to fish or play on.
If you have the time when visiting Buccan think about going onto McKillops bridge(stoping at the falls and George).
You can do it as a round trip via Bonag and Orbost but it would be a big day.
If you can find company Deddick Tk runs between the bridge and Orbost-Bonang Rd.
It's rated as difficult with 2 harder sections but a very nice trip I wish to repeat one day.
I've done it alone but it is very remote country so company is preferred.
http://www.4x4earth.com.au/tracks.ht..._Deddick-Trail, again we did it in reverse last time so we decended the stairs.
It also meant we had the blacktop via Buccan to run home on latter in the day/night if needed.

There are a few tracks around this area. I was down there fishing a few months back, it was wet and cold, which made for some interesting driving. Theres various places where you can actually get onto the beach, but as the others have said,, its a no-no.
I think you can drive almost to Seaspray along the back of the dunes, but I ran out of time to go that far.
