The 2.4 Makes this horrible sound. Adding 2 Stroke oil to the fuel makes a difference, depends on the fuel that's in there.
The 2.2 does not do this , and sounds much better.

I'm off for a month soon and think I'll try this 2T oil when I fill up. Then depending on what that does I'll have the "injector learn" done but will have to find out who to trust the beast to for that.
I don't like morons who call themselves "LR experts" fiddling with my vehicle.:o
Any thoughts on decent tuners in WA?

I have had the same problem with my 2.4 110 Been back to the dealers twice, third time I had the service manager come for a drive with me to listen to the noise. He could hear the rattle but proceeded to tell me that it was normal. I replied "wait a minute and my wife will be here with my 2.4 90. We went for a drive in the 90 and he agreed that the 110 was in fact noisy.
After 2 remaps they re installed the injector codes, that fixed the problem. But it is noisy again so I am thinking of buying a Nanocom and doing it myself.
The Common Rail Diesel injector rattle is cause by a deterioration in the injector's response to ECU signals. Pumps and injectors run high pressures, high temperatures and fine tolerances. Contaminants already in the fuel, contaminants formed by the fuel degrading in service, and/or loss of fuel lubricity can cause injectors to stick open too long. They then over fuel, and cause a detonation rattle, which can be damaging.
Our CRD Fuel Enhancer corrects and protects against this problem. I have posted details in "The Verandah" section for those interested.

CRD fuel enhansor - two stroke oil. One has a fancy name and a fancy price tag, the othe is cheep and readily available.
Thanks for the information update , if this is so , then is it the same dosage as per CRD ? I did check website and it was expensive , so if two stroke oil is good to go , then I'll have a crack.Quote:

I also experience a general chatter whilst driving and have found a fuel treatment (diesel conditioner) helps. After a few thousand k's it gets worse and I do another treatment. Maybe its dirty fuel, water or wear and tear - there's a few different products (i've used a couple) out there but I like the liquimoly one. Shouldnt hurt for you to experiment but I'm not sure that its a good idea to use it every fill unless you always getting dodgey fuel.
