Do you think the price for that is still quite high, considering you can get the AP900 installed for $200 more (apparantly).
Do you have the link to the Defender2 article that says this?

From memory it was the first one the mechanic had installed in a Defender and it cost about $750 installed.
Mine looks exactly like this one Our Products - Cruise Control

I did a search for Autostrada and your post came up.

Ive been considering buying The Autostrada LA01S. and installing it myself.

That LA01S says it is Analog, I thought it would need to be CAN to fit the Defender?
Also, what cost are we talking to supply only?

Yeah I noticed the blurb with ea notation, but it also says its plug and play and doesnt require any calibration- tailored to the specific make model The LA 01S is for a Def Puma 2007 on - Perfect for DIY.

Was quoted $575 supply only plus 15 delivery

Id like some feedback from someone who has used or even better installed one.

Try Steve's Car Alarms. They did my 2012 Puma, they are mobile or it can be done at there workshop.
Price was reasonable, fitment was good and the fitter did a great job, took his time and it has worked well.

Just posting the content of the PM I sent you.
It works OK and the actual cruise control is good.
However IMO the switch interface is a bit clunky compared to say the units that come pre-installed in holden/ford/toyota. Those units have 5 or 6 seperate buttons mounted on the steering wheel. So you get on/off, + speed, - Speed, reset and cancel. The stalk unit only has one button on the end and the whole end also rotates to give you 2 switches ( a total of 3 "Buttons") This means that the functions double up so to speak. My main problem with the unit is that the LED only shows whether the unit is on or off and not if it's engaged in cruise control or on standby. Gets a bit confusing if you are engaging and disabling it a few times in a row as there is no LED feed back, I often end up turning off the cruise when I meant only just to disengage it - not a big thing but then you loose the ability to resume at your previous setting. In my partners Mazda 3 and my previous Camry, the LED comes on yellow when you turn it on and then goes green when its engaged. The Autostrada LED just goes green when you turn it on.

Just the LED thing annoys me enough that it would make me choose a different unit if I were doing it again, but it's not enough to make me replace my unit, as it otherwise functions perfectly.

Having said that I don't know if you have a choice, I'd ask Nugget as he installed a different unit, he may have the same problem.

    Cheers Glen

Update on the above post. Talked to Autostrada today and heading over Friday to look into a bi-coloured LED.
