    Dash/tail lights not working

When driving recently I noticed after the sun went down my dash-lights weren't working. I read on here that this happens when a tail-light fails. Sure enough, my tail lights aren't working either. Given I don't drive at night much, I'm not sure how long it's been like that.

All the fuses seem fine, and those other items that should be on the same circuit work fine. All brake, reverse and blinker lights are fine. Using a multi-meter, I've confirmed there is no power getting to the lights.

I now remember a few weeks back mucking around in the dash area fitting a new antenna. Is there anything behind the instrument panel I could have bumped that could have caused this?

Not sure, although I already have an after-market replacement that the previous owner installed after replacing the dodgy original switch.

Do you have relays fitted to take the current away from the switch???

I had this fixed on mine last week, dash lights, right front parking light, and right rear tail light. In the end after several hours searching, I had the auto elec have a look while he was doing some other work for me, and it ended up an accessory plug had been wired in wrong (to the dash light power) and it was overloading the circuit.
    Cheers

Seems very much like the park light setting on your lighting switch is not right. Something between there and where the cable splits before the fuse box. Check that all the connections at the back of the switch are tight (red cable), then test the switch operation with a multimeter.

Trundle, I saw your post about your dash, front right park, and right rear tail light being out. I have exactly the same problem with mine. Swapped the bulbs, changed the fuses, no joy.

You mentioned that a switch fixed the problem? Which AUX switch did you change? i have a feeling that the switch next to the hazard (not the rear heat) is bad, but before I change that out I wanted to check with you. There are three switches in a row next to my left knee (would be right for RHD vehicles).
