    Identifying lift height above standard

    So I have a 1985 V8 Land rover county 110, It Came running 33 inch tyres and they only seem to rub in extreme conditions/angles but more on the suspension components not necessarily on the gaurds.

    I'm looking at buying some braided brake lines to improve the braking and need to know what length I need to order.

    Can someone suggest what lift I might have. and is there any potential problems with going a little longer with the break lines.

    If its not standard height it will likely be 40-50mm raised. Measure the front bump stop clearance - I think standard is about 65mm.

    Buy the lines for a 2" lift. I've run them at standard height with no dramas and you'll know they're long enough if you do have a slight lift.

    Hi Dean,

    Nice choice of vehicle there.

    On my '85 V8 County, I went for +2 inch braided lines. I run Gwyn Lewis dislocating suspension, and the brake lines are all good.

    Too late ordered 2 inch longer ones, should be enough. And I'm hopeing that combined with new discs, pads and less lubrication from the no longer leaking swivel hubs I should be able to get the old girl to stop

    When I did all this, I also bought new pistons and seals for the front calipers. It wasn't too expensive, and they were definitely in need of a rebuild at this age.

    If you want it to consistently stop well, rear discs and a D1 booster are an upgrade that will make you smile.

    Does the rear disc upgrade require new rear lines aswell ?
    Will have to look into the cost of the parts. As all things land rover need to be approved by the minister of war and finance
