My point exactly, 10f or 5c ...... Without a thermometer you couldn't tell the difference.

Both are ****ing hot.

The situation is worse than that Mythbusters' test suggests.

A black car heats up more quickly. While you might think there is little difference after a full day in the sun, there is a greater difference after a shorter period of time. The sort of time you might spend in the shopping centre while the car sits in the parking lot outside.

Since we are talking about Defenders there is an even greater difference between a black one and a white one.

Modern cars have a huge windscreen that slopes back a long way, so a lot of the heat buildup in a car is from the sunshine through the window.

A Defender has a tiny almost vertical windscreen, so much less of the temperature rise is from sunshine through the glass. Since a greater proportion of the temperature rise with a Defender is through heat absorbed by the metal panels, there is a greater difference between a black Defender and a white Defender than there is between a black sedan and a white sedan.

So that Mythbusters test doesn't tell the full story about black Defenders.

Mine clean at start of a trip and battered half way down gibb river road, svx is a good rig, not interested in the whole white is cooler thing, just crank up the aircon !!!!!
