Has anyone installed a exhaust brake on a 300tdi? I have seen it done once but was unable speak to the owner. I am interested in putting one in mine and would like to know of any side effects to the turbo, exhaust and valves? Thanks.

yep, makes quite a bit of difference....
wont hold back a MAX GCM load in 4th but it does mean you can get down in 3rd without having to use the brakes.
on the toowomba range when I was initially messign with swmbos setup (cable operated then now just waiting on the pnemaitcs install) what I used to have to come down the hill in second and use the brakes on I can now come down in third only using the brakes to slow down for the corners.
not as good as Id like it as even in second it holds the speed but wont slow me up additionaly once the engine RPMS are down below 3K rpm... but still better than coming down a 4.2K and riding the brakes.

I have one on the Isuzu powered 110 FC.
Electric vac solenoid wired to the brake light switch. Just touch the brake pedal so the switch closes enough to operate but not enough to put the brakes on. Makes a big difference going down hills.
Also put a main switch in on the dash to turn it off around town.
Only problem is if I leave it switched off for long periods the butterfly spindle seizes up in the brake in the open position so wont work.
are you using SGV gear or something else?.
Umm, whats SGV?
My Ex brake is off an Isuzu NPR
Thanks all, its on my Gunna do listthat keeps getting bigger!! anyway was going to control the brake with a simple spring return toggle switch on the gear lever. Cheers.
