    Which drawer system?

Hi, I want to put a drawer system in the back of my Defender (2012 110) but seem to be spoilt for choice. I would be grateful for any recommendations or if you are able to point me in the direction of a relevant thread.

Does the extra weight outweigh the benefits of being organised?

    Black Widow gets my vote.

My system (drawer, cargo barrier, top shelf & 60lt water tank with 12v pump) has been in since 2009 and has seen lots of use. Drawer still rolls in and out like new and everything else, like the drawer still works and looks like new.

BW are a bit more expensive but like everything else "you only get what you pay for"

    Defender drawer

I have twice used " Off-road Systems " & recently installed a double stacked full length in my 110 MY11. I like the ORS drawers for there full alloy option & DIY choices if the budgets a little tight ( nothing worse then a tight BUDGIE )
Good people but they wouldn't believe I could fit in double stacked & keep the rear seats. I made bed extensions so I have lots of storage, sleeping area & can still carry passengers should I choose. The weight difference between alloy & steel has to be felt to appreciate it.
    Regards Chris.

Thanks for that Chris. Are they a permanent fixture or is there scope to remove/fit when needed? Double drawers is no doubt useful when touring but obviously restricts the usefullness of the vehicle when I am about town and buying lots of things from Bunnings. At the moment the wife can't use the excuse that we can't fit it in the car when I want to buy things however that would become a valid reason with the double drawers.

    Drawers

I made mine as a fairly permanent figment due to setting her up as a remote tourer, but I am sure if you only went with single high ( approx 200mm) you could make them fairly easy to remove. Check out ORS web site as I think they mention quick install/ un install.
The height on mine is a slight issue, I can almost sit upright on my behind but not quite. Makes for interesting times wiggling into a sleeping bag.
    Regards Chris.

I had some Tanami drawers installed in my trailer. I'm very happy with them.

I designed and built my own based on a very solid design and have had 2 years of perfect use out of the set-up, I'm so happy with it. I've removed it now as I'm setting up for a Pop-top and a pull-out kitchen but IMHO, yes the weight of a drawer setup is sub-optimal but being organised and having things secured more than makes up for it.

If you want to save a few bucks you can buy mine (the ad is in Markets section http://www.aulro.com/afvb/internal-a...-defender.html) but if you want to go for brand spanking, I'd be inclined to look at Black Widow, Drifta or get something bespoke done at Department of the Interior - they're a consoles maker but they do drawers too.

Another option to check out, Sense of Adventure Drawer Systems.

    Another Drawer Option....Just installed

I have had mine in for about four months now, and can't find a single fault with it. I am still happy I went the route I did, regardless of overseas shipping.

Good luck with your choice......all will be good.
